Looper-to-needle clearance in sewing direction (preliminary adjustment)
in sewing direction there must be a clearance of 0.1 mm between looper
point and needle (see Fig. 13.0.2).

Check to make sure that the needle guard does not deflect the needle, then
turn the balance wheel until the point of the advancing looper Is in line with the
left side of the needle.
Slightly loosen both screws 1 (Fig. 13.0.1) of looper assembly 2.
Adjust the position of the looper assembly so that there is a clearance of
0.1 mm between looper point and needle.
In this position, tighten both screws 1.
If a clearance of 0.1 mm cannot be obtained, the setting of eccentric bearing
stud 3 (Fig. 11.0.1) has to be corrected. In this case repeat check of step 11.
