Service Manual for the Pfaff 5483
Notes on safety:
The machine must only be used for the purpose it has been designed for.
When converting it to another version, ali valid safety rules must be followed.
Service and repair work must only be performed by qualified personnel.
Work on live parts is not permitted, apart from exceptions according to DIN 57105 and
VDE 0105.
Please note:
The illustrations in this Manual show the Pfaff 5483-814/01 single-needle, two-thread
chainstitch, high-speed sewing machine, whereas the adjusting instructions apply to the
Pfaff 5483-814/01 single- and two-needle machines.
Differing or additional adjusting instructions for machines with floating foot (No. 91-055
660-91) are given on page 38, and for machines in version H and with -911/.. backtacking
mechanism in the Appendices on pages 40 and 44 respectively.
The machine version is indicated on the model plate on the arm standard.

Set of screwdrivers with blades from 2 to 10 mm wide
Set of alien keys of sizes 1.5 to 6.0 mm
Set of open-ended spanners/wrenches from 7 to 14 mm wide
Spanner/wrench, 22 mm wide
