Seal the test port: Completely cover the
test port. Create a seal over the port hole
with your ngertip. Avoid nger positions
that allow air to leak through the port.
KEEP THE PORT SEALED DURING THE
ENTIRE BLOOD COLLECTION PROCESS.
You may want to practice nger
positioning before testing, especially if
you have long ngernails or like to test on
the side of the ngertip.
Apply consistent pressure: When
lancing, PRESS DOWN until you see
the 3-2-1 countdown. This signals you
have the right pressure for the test.
Hold nger steady so POGO Automatic
can automatically lance and collect
blood sample. Aer lance, DO NOT LIFT
nger even slightly o test port; this can
interrupt blood collection. Note: pressing
way too hard may restrict blood ow and
cause meter errors.
It’s helpful to place your index nger
from your other hand on top of the nger
being tested to ensure you apply rm
and consistent pressure without liing
during automated blood collection.
