2. Install a new shaft bushing onto the upper steering
shaft assembly. Install the shaft into the bottom of the
pivot tube.
3. On international models, verify the steering lock is
installed.
4. Install a new shaft busing onto the steering shaft.
Install the locking collar.
5. Apply Loctite 271 to the steering wheel nut and install
hand tight.
6. Reinstall the pivot tube / steering wheel assembly
back onto the vehicle.
7. Align the upper steering shaft with skip-tooth on the
EPS input shaft. After the shaft is seated, install the
pinch bolt using a new lock nut. Tighten lock nut to
specification.
TORQUE
Upper Steering Shaft Pinch Bolt:
15 ft-lbs (20 Nm)
