DISC SERVICE
BRAKE DISC RUNOUT
1. Mount dial indicator as shown to measure disc
runout.
2. Slowly rotate the disc and read total runout on the dial
indicator.
3. Replace the disc if runout exceeds specification.
Brake Disc Runout:
0.010" (0.254 mm)
BRAKE DISC INSPECTION
1. Visually inspect disc for scoring, scratches, or
gouges. Replace disc if deep scratches are evident.
2. Use a 0-1” micrometer and measure disc thickness at
eight different points around the pad contact surface.
Replace disc if worn beyond service limit.
Brake Disc Thickness:
Std: 0.188 in (4.775 mm)
Service Limit: 0.181 in (4.597 mm)
Brake Disc Thickness Variance:
Service Limit: 0.002” (0.051 mm)
BRAKE DISC REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the appropriate brake caliper. Refer to
“Brake Caliper Removal - Front”page 9.42 or
“Brake Caliper Removal - Rear”page 9.50
procedure.
