4. Inspect inside of hub

for wear, galling, or uneven
surface.
5. Inspect crankshaft bearing surface for abnormal
wear.
6. Remove starter gear from the flywheel assembly.
7. Remove the three, one-way clutch retaining bolts.
8. Remove clutch and inspect both sides of drive rollers
w
and roller contact surface
e
inside hub for wear,
damage, or uneven surface.
9. Inspect drive surface of starter gear
r
and bearing
surface
t
for wear, damage, or uneven surface. If
any starter clutch component is worn or damaged,
replace clutch, clutch hub, and starter gear.
