To choose a directory server:
1 Do one of the following:
— In the local interface, go to System > Admin Settings > Global
Services > Directory Servers (select if necessary).
— In the web interface, go to Admin Settings > Global Services >
Directory Servers.
2 Enable LDAP, Polycom GDS, Microsoft Office Communications
Server, or Microsoft Lync Server.
To configure the Polycom GDS settings:
1 Do one of the following:
— In the local interface, go to System > Admin Settings > Global
Services > Directory Servers (select if necessary) and select the
Edit button to the right of Polycom GDS.
— In the web interface, go to Admin Settings > Global Services >
Directory Servers and select Polycom GDS.
2 Configure these settings on the Global Directory Servers screen:
Microsoft Office
Communications
Server 2007 R2
NTLM Contact groups but not
distribution lists
May include:
• SIP address (SIP URI)
Microsoft Lync
Server 2010
NTLM Contact groups but not
distribution lists
May include:
• SIP address (SIP URI)
* To successfully call a phone number from the LDAP directory, the phone number must be stored in one of the
following formats:
• +Country Code.Area Code.Number
• +Country Code.(National Direct Dial Prefix).Area Code.Number

Setting Description
Global Directory
(GDS)
Specifies the IP address or DNS address of the Global
Directory Server. You can enter up to five addresses.
Password Lets you enter the global directory password, if one exists.
Register Registers this system with the Global Directory Server.
Display Global
Addresses
Displays other registered systems in the global directory.
