3 Installation of the System for Measurement
NOTE
You can use the supplied tools to assemble the
system.
Use only the supplied stainless steel screws to
attach the different components (e.g., the arms of
the moving mechanism).
All components must be of the same connection
system (e.g. BNT).
3.1 Quickstart (Workflow)
• Position the lifting carriage with mounted posi-
tioning device and Perspex tank.
• Align the Perspex tank by using the light field
indicator and the laser system of the accelerator.
• Mount the measuring detector to the moving
mechanism according to section
3.6.
• Mount the reference detector to the moving
mechanism according to section
3.8.
• Connect the detectors.
• Connect the water reservoir.
• Fill the Perspex tank with distilled water (refer to
section
3.3.1).
• Adjust the water level by means of the adjust-
able legs (by comparing the water line with the
horizontal lines or by using the level).
• Check the height setting again in this position
and, if necessary; correct it by means of the ad-
justing screws.
• Connect all cables between TANDEM, TBA
CONTROL UNIT, TBA CONTROL PENDANT
and PC (if required) according to sections
3.4
and
3.5.
• Position the measuring detector by using the
TBA CONTROL PENDANT and check or set the
limits and zero point.
• Position the reference detector.
CAUTION
Inaccurate orientation of the measuring detector.
Erroneous Measurement!
Observe the effective point of measurement of
the detector specified in its user manual.
CAUTION
Improper handling.
Equipment damage!
Lay and fix the detector cable in such a way, that
the cable gets irradiated as little as possible.
When laying the detector cable please observe,
that enough cable will be available for all possi-
ble positions of the measuring detector and that
the cable can not be squeezed.
Check the cable laying by moving the measuring
detector to all extreme positions.
CAUTION
Measurement with adjusting cube.
Erroneous Measurement!
Please ensure that the adjusting cube is re-
moved before any measurement.
