3.7 Connecting the Detectors
CAUTION
Inaccurate orientation of the measuring detector.
Erroneous Measurement!
Observe the effective point of measurement of
the detector specified in its user manual.
CAUTION
Measurement with adjusting cube.
Erroneous Measurement!
Please ensure that the adjusting cube is re-
moved before any measurement.
CAUTION
Improper handling.
Equipment damage!
Lay and fix the detector cable in such a way, that
the cable gets irradiated as little as possible.
When laying the detector cable please observe,
that enough cable will be available for all possi-
ble positions of the measuring detector and that
the cable can not be squeezed.
Check the cable laying by moving the measuring
detector to all extreme positions.
• Attach the plug holder T4316/U161 to the Per-
spex tank.
• If required, connect the chamber to the exten-
sion cable.
• Clamp the plug connection of detector cable and
extension cable in the plug holder T4316/U161.
• Connect the detector cable or extension cable to
detector input labeled FIELD on the rear side of
the TANDEM.
3.8 Mounting and Connecting
the Reference Detector
CAUTION
Improper handling.
Erroneous Measurement!
Ensure that the complete ionization volume of
the reference chamber is positioned within the
radiation field and does not collide with the mov-
ing mechanism.
CAUTION
Inaccurate orientation of the detector.
Erroneous Measurement!
Observe the direction of beam for the detector
specified in its user manual.
CAUTION
Improper handling.
Equipment damage!
Lay and fix the detector cable in such a way, that
the cable gets irradiated as little as possible.
When laying the detector cable please observe,
that enough cable will be available for all possi-
ble positions of the detector and that the cable
can not be squeezed.
For use of chambers T31010 or T31013 as refer-
ence detector
• Mount the reference detector holder
T4316/U171 to the upper edge of the Perspex
wall.
• Secure the guide tube at the holder.
