Amplitude pO2 instruction:
The amplitude of the pO2 measurement signal is monitored. The value of the amplitude is shown in
the display field pO2. If the amplitude’s value is less than 375, the sensor alarm “Sensor?” is trig-
gered.
Technical instructions:
Technical instructions are classified as low-priority alarms. The following alarms are classified as tech-
nical instructions.
1. A Reader was attached, but the NEUROVENT-P-tel catheter was not found.
2. A NEUROVENT PTO catheter with oxygen measurement function was attached, but the Neu-
roSmart (REF 095284-001) does not have an oxygen measurement function.
3. Two NEUROVENT PTO catheters with oxygen measurement function were attached, but the
NeuroSmart logO (REF 095294-001) does not have an oxygen measurement function.
Delaying technical alarms
A self-test in the P1/T1 and P2/ T2 channels is performed every 2 minutes. If the self-test is failed three
times, a technical alarm “Channel faulty” is triggered. Technical alarms can therefore be delayed for up
to 6 minutes.
3.7 Analogue forwarding of measured parameters
The NeuroSmart device has two types of analogue outputs. The first type of forwarding is pressure
forwarding with the Out1/Out2 outputs, which can be connected to the invasive pressure input of a
patient monitor. The second type of forwarding is the output of equivalent voltages in a 0-5 V range at
the Rec output (see Figure 1). Compared to the Out1/Out2 outputs, the temperature can additionally be
forwarded to a voltmeter with the Rec output.
3.7.1 Making signal connections with follow-on devices
• Forwarding pressures with Out1/Out2 outputs
The Cable DATALOGGER is provided for pressure forwarding to a patient monitor with the Out1/Out2
outputs. Please contact your distributor for the appropriate cable connectors.
Firstly, connect the Cable DATALOGGER from the Out1/Out2 outputs of the NeuroSmart to the invasive
pressure inputs of a patient monitor. See Figure 1.
• Forwarding pressure or temperature with the Rec output
Either a pressure channel or temperature channel can be output as an equivalent analogue voltage with
the Rec output. Please use the Rec-BNC Cable to establish a connection. See Figure 1.
