PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TO CONTROL
AN RCA DS5® RECEIVER
The universal remote is preprogrammed to control the RCA
DSS® receiver. Many buttons on your TV remote may have the
same functions as the buttons on the RCA DSS* remote. You
may also want to experiment with other buttons on the
remote to see if they work with your receiver.
PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TO CONTROL A
SATELLITE OR CABLE BOX
Refer to the Connection Foldout or contact your cable
company to hook up your cable box. If you have a cable box
With its own remote, then you may also be able to use the TV's
remote with your cable box. This remote may not operate all
models of the brands that are shown below. Use the codes at
the right or on the sheet packed with your remote.
1. Turn on the cable box.
2. Look up your brand and its code number(s) on code list at
right,
3. Press and hold the DSSeCABLE button on the remote.
4. Enter the two-digit code from the code list.
5. Release the DSS.CABLE button and press POWER or CHAN
UP or DOWN to see if the cable box responds to the
remote commands,
6. Repeat these steps using the next code listed for your
brand until the cable box responds to the remote
commands.
