9.1 Safety during maintenance and inspection
Preventive and thorough maintenance is essential for the safety of the
staff within working range of the process. In addition, it ensures proper
operation of the system. Please have only qualified personnel perform
inspection, maintenance and service work!

with the specific operating conditions of the facility. Information within this
manual is to be supplemented by your own experience.

9.2 Preparation for inspection/maintenance work
Before performing any inspection/maintenance work, please take the following steps:

• Inform operating staff in a timely manner of the upcoming maintenance work.
• Appoint a person in charge.
• Let the system run for approximately 1 minute without feeding the substances that
are to be separated, that is, turn off the processing machine to be exhausted.
• Disconnect the air pollution control system.
• Since overrunning may occur, wait until all rotating parts have stopped. We
recommend waiting another 5 minutes prior to opening the inspection lid just to be
sure all parts have stopped completely.
