1.12 TONER DENSITY ON COPIES TOO HIGH
- Problem -
1. Dirty background appears on the copy.
2. The image density of black solid areas is too high.
- Possible Causes -
1. The toner supply motor keeps on turning continuously.
2. SP30 (Toner Supply Mode Selection) has been changed from the default
setting.
3. The main control board is defective.
4. The charge corona current is too low.
5. Some SP or UP modes have been changed that would lead to this
problem.
6. TD sensor defective.
- Action -
Has an abnormal TD sensor condition occurred?
No Yes
See the "Abnormal Condition in Toner Density Detection" section.
Clean the optics section and the area around the drum. Make a few sky
shot copies and then readjust the light intensity and the ADS voltage.
Does the toner supply motor turn even though there is sufficient toner in the
development unit?
No Yes
Check the voltage at CN106-1 on the main board.
