Open the front cover.
Check the carriage position.
Possible case of carriage position
Case 1: The carriage is in the center position or in a position other than the position of the
maintenance cap. Proceed to page 221, “Attaching the head protection cover”.
Case 2: The carriage is in the maintenance cap position. The carriage needs to be unlocked.
Proceed to page 219, “Unlocking the carriage”.
