3. Make sure your ink is 5% or more when you are done printing for the day or plan on
leaving your printer idle for a few hours.
While you can continue to print using cartridges with less than 5% remaining, the machine’s
vital automated maintenance sequences require at least 5% or more in order to complete. If
you do not have replacement ink available, you can fill your printer with cleaning fluid. For
details, see page 190, "Preparing Your Printer for Storage/Shipping".
4. Perform a nozzle check daily, so you can spot and quickly address potential issues
with the printer.
Regardless of whether the printer is in use or not, printing a nozzle check every day to
check the condition of the printer will enable you to detect and address problems early.
If, as a result of printing the nozzle check, there are multiple nozzles that are not ejecting
ink, perform head cleaning and print the nozzle check again to confirm that ink is being
ejected normally.
5. Check the following websites to ensure that your printer and software firmware are
completely up to date.

6. Exercise care when changing platens.
While it is ruggedly constructed, the RICOH Ri 2000 is a precision tool and care should be
taken when performing adjustments to the machine.
