9. Warranty and Patent
Robotiq warrantsthe 2F-85 and 2F-140 Adaptive Robot Grippers against defectsin material and workmanship for a period of one
year from the date of reception when utilized asintended. Robotiq also warrants that thisequipment will meet applicable
specifications under normal use.
Warranty applies under the following conditions:
l
Usage respects the operating and storage conditionsspecified in the Environmental and Operating Conditionssection
l
Proper installation of the Gripper specified in Installation section and the following subsections.
l
Until one of these condition isreached:
l
1 year
l
2 000 000 cycle count
1
l
Usage respects maintenance specified in the Maintenance section.
l
Usage respects recommended payload and force specified in the Payload and force section.

Cycle count: One (1) cycle is defined as an object picking attempt, successful or not (open or closing onto an object, or closing on
itself). It is calculated in the internal memory of the 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper and can been seen on the teach pendant when using
Universal Robotsor with the Robotiq User Interface.
During the warranty period, Robotiq will repair or replace any defective 2-Finger Adaptive Robot Gripper, as well as verify and
adjust the Gripper free of charge if the equipment should need to be repaired or if the original adjustment is erroneous. If the
equipment issent back for verification during the warranty period and found to meet all published specifications, Robotiq will
charge standard verification fees.
The unit isconsidered defective when at least one of the following conditions occurs:
l
The Gripper fingers cannot close or open;
l
The Gripper feedback necessary for the robot program isnot accessible.
Parts that come into contact with the work piece and wearing partssuch asthe finger and palm padsare not covered by the
warranty.
Caution
The warranty will become null and void if :
l
The unit has been tampered with, repaired or worked on by unauthorized individuals.
l
The warranty sticker hasbeen removed (if present)
l
The screws, other than as explained in thisguide, have been removed.
l
The unit has been opened other than asexplained in this guide.
l
Unit serial number has been altered, erased, or removed.
l
Unit hasbeen misused, neglected, or damaged by accident.
