Power Supply
Turning the Power Off
* When making connections to other devices, to prevent malfunction or damage to speakers or other devices, be sure lower the volume all the
way before you switch on the power.
* After powering down all devices, detach the power sources.
* If you need to turn off the power completely, first turn off the POWER switch, then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Refer to Power
Supply (p. 5).
1. Turn off the power to the peripheral devices.
Turn off the power to the devices connected to the R-1000.
2. Put the R-1000 in standby mode.
Press and hold the STANDBY button on the front panel for 2 seconds. The message shown below appears on the display. While
this message is displayed, touching [Standby] on the screen makes the color of the STANDBY button change to red and puts the
R-1000 in standby mode.
* This message disappears after 5 seconds. When you want to put the unit in standby mode, touch [Standby] within 5 seconds after the message
appears.

3. Turn the power off.
Make sure the color of the STANDBY button has changed to red, then switch the POWER switch on the rear panel to OFF.

When turning off the power, pay attention to the following points.
Before turning off the power, be sure to operate the STANDBY button on the front panel to put the R-1000 in standby mode. When the unit is
put into standby mode, the color of the STANDBY button changes to red. Turning off the power before going into standby mode can cause
corruption of recorded data or malfunction.
Never disconnect the power cord before turning off the power. Unplugging it before turning off the power can cause malfunction.
When the unit is put into standby mode without turning off the power, it draws approximately 13 W of power. Turn off the power when not in
use.
