When Manual Cleaning Is Necessary
The timing with which Manual Head Cleaning is required varies depending on the type of ink you are
using. Be sure to perform this cleaning when it is required.

If the following problems are found, Manual Head Cleaning is recommended
If the following problems occur and any of the automatic cleaning functions have not solved the prob-
lem, perform Manual Head Cleaning.
Please note that replacement of the wiper may also be an effective method to solve a problem.
Nozzle clogging Ink spots Dragged dirt
Dust and dirt stick to the print heads and
prevent normal discharge of ink.
Ink gathers around dirt and grime near
the print heads and ink drops are
formed.
Dragging occurs when dirt around the
