Umbauanleitung/retrofit instruction 125 MAX Series
5. Installation of components
5.1) INSTALLATION OF CYLINDER COMPONENTS
Notice: The opening of the combustion chamber should still be covered.
5.1.1) Installation of piston, piston pin
Notice: Mount the piston with the locking pin of the piston ring facing the intake port.
Notice: The piston pin is fixed in the piston with two circlips (groove at bottom).
Notice: Always use new circlips. Used or previously installed circlips have too little
tangential tension and they may twist and work their way out of the groove in the piston.
Note: For easier installation we recommend installing one circlip before installing the piston.
Coat the piston pin retainer with engine oil.
Insert the piston pin retainer into the upper conrod eye.
Fig. 28 (K00334)
Place the new circlip (1) flat on a level surface and push the mounting sleeve (2) part
no. 676035 over it. See Fig. 29
Push the circlip deeper into the mounting sleeve with the tapered side of the installation tool
(3).
Rotate the installation tool and continue to push the mounting sleeve until the circlip reachs
the end of the mounting sleeve. See Fig. 30
