Function Key Assignment Programming
Function keys may be relocated, inactivated or changed with this program. For example, you may
wish to place functions, such as PREVIOUS BALANCE and SERVICE that are not placed on the
default keyboard. Or perhaps, you may wish to remove a function, such as CANCEL, for security
reasons.
Program 70 - Function Key Assignment Programming
Please note the following limitations:
• If you assign a duplicate of a function code, the duplicate will function exactly as the original
- you will not get separate totals and counters on reports for the duplicated key.
• You can reassign keys only in locations that are programmable. See “Keyboard”, where the
key locations that may be programmed are identified.
To Assign a Function Key to a Location:
1. Turn the control lock to the S-Mode.
Switch to S Mode by press MODE function key. (For ER-230)
2. Enter 7 0, and then press the SUBTL key.
3. Refer to Function Key Codes to find the code for the key you wish to assign, press the
location you wish to program. Repeat this step to assign another key.
4. Press CASH key to finalise key assignment program.
