FIELD Notes
DESCRIPTOR
Enter a descriptor up to 16 characters in length. Note
that the method you use to enter the descriptor depends
upon your selection for General Function Option #12
(see “General Function Options” on page 57.)
x The default method is by using the Alpha Keyboard
Overlay. Type the descriptor using the typewriter-
style keyboard on the overlay.
x If Alpha Code Entry is selected as an alternative,
type the codes representing each character, see
“Entering Alpha Characters” in the “Getting Started”
chapter for a list of alpha codes.
GROUP LINK #1
Enter the primary reporting group for the GROUPS and
PLU BY GROUP reports.
x There are 99 groups available for reporting.
x If you wish to assign a PLU to more than one
reporting group, assign the PLU to a PLU STATUS
LINK# that contains the necessary assignments for
GROUP LINK #2 and GROUP LINK #3. (See
“PLU Status Group” on page 38.)
PLU STATUS LINK #
The status link group contains the remainder of the
configurable options for this PLU. See "PLU Status
Group" on page 38.
PIECE COUNT
Enter a value in this field if you wish to use Product
Mix and Product Projection reporting. The number of
units entered here will be reflected in product mix
reporting.

product mix items and time periods.
