58 S&C Instruction Sheet 461-509
The purpose of the DNP3 Outstation Settings screen is to specify how the communica-
tions gateway will operate within a Proxy mode between the TripSaverII recloser and the
SCADA master and to congure the DNP3 point codes/mapping for DNP3 communications
to the TripSaverII recloser. In this rmware release, version 4.0, the communications
gateway will operate in Concentrator mode only. RTU Concentrator mode (default)
hosts a single RTU DNP3 address for all TripSaverII reclosers it supports. The com-
munications gateway will deliver information for each TripSaverII recloser mapped to
separate point codes, providing more efcient SCADA integrity poll messaging overhead
and conserving DNP address space.
Note: The Web-user interface enforces a 30-minute session inactivity timer. When
many inputs are required, it is recommended to routinely save settings.
DNP3 Addressing
In this panel, the addressing type is xed as Concentrator mode, while the Gateway
DNP3 Address eld may be edited. For the Gateway DNP3 Address eld, enter the
DNP3 address identied on the SCADA master to the corresponding communications
gateway. See Figure 56.
