Cleaning and Maintenance
t When a total of ten measurements have been recorded: Convert the
recorded masses (mi) into volume (Vi) by multiplying them with a
correction factor Z. The following applies: Vi=mi · Z (for Z scores, see
Chapter14.11, page58).
t Calculate the average volume: (V): V = (Vi)/10.
t To evaluate conformity: calculate the systematic error “eS” of the
measurement. Use the following formula:
— in µL: eS = V–VS
— or in %: eS = 100 (V–VS)/VS
— VS = selected test volume
t Calculate the random error of the measurement as the standard
deviation. Do this using the formula. n = number of measurements (10).
t Compare the systematic error and the random error with the values of
the performance specification from your own laboratory.

Requirement
The lower assembly is dismantled.
Procedure
t Wet the brush with the grease supplied.
For models with 3µL | 10µL | 120µL
t Apply a thin layer of grease to the piston (1).
For models with 300µL | 1,000µL
t Apply a thin layer of grease around the seal (1).
For models with 5,000µL | 10,000µL
t Apply a thin layer of grease inside the tip cone and around the seal (1).
