Step 1 Open the electrode packaging

When using pre-connected electrodes, go directly to Step 3 Applying the electrodes
to the patient’s chest.
Step 2 Connecting the electrode cable to the device

 Risks for the user and the patient — The packaging of pre-connected electrodes
is welded to the electrode cable. Do not remove the packaging from the elec-
trode cable (risk of damaging the cable).
Pre-connected electrodes, which are already connected to the device, only need to
be applied to the patient’s chest (Step 3). In this case, Step 2 is not required. Elec-
trodes that are not pre-connected, need to be connected (Step 2) and applied (Step
3).
