1. ▷
Activate the protection stage and select whether it shall operate as a supervision or a
protection function, see ╚═▷ “4.1 »Prot« – General Protection Module”.
2. ▷
Select between Supervision only or protection tripping:
• [Device planning / Denition] »Ipeak> . Denition« =•
Options:
◦ “Alarm” — In case of a detected overcurrent, the module issues only an alarm◦
signal »Ipeak> . Alarm . Alarm« but does not trip the circuit breaker.
◦ “Trip” — In case of a detected overcurrent, the module issues a trip◦
signal »Ipeak> . Trip and trips the circuit breaker.
3. ▷
Specify the pickup threshold:
• [Protection Para / Ipeak>] »Ipeak> . I« — as a number value in units of the nominal•
current In.
Note that the device has an internal factor of √2
due to its use of peak values: A
setting value of, for instance, 8⋅In means a pickup at a current value | i(t)| ≥ √2
⋅8⋅In.
4. ▷
Specify the tripping delay (in seconds):
• [Protection Para / Ipeak>] »Ipeak> . t«•
Note, however, that due to the general concept of this protection module, only an
instantaneous tripping (»Ipeak> . t« = 0) makes sense in most applications.
