3.3.3
Adapter CTs for 1 A
Only the special WIC1-compatible CTs are permitted for the phase current inputs. (See
╚═▷ “WIC1 CTs”.) The connection of common CTs – e. g. with 1 A secondary current – is
not permitted.
If the use of 1 A standard CTs is mandatory (for technical or historical reasons) it is possible
to connect special adapter CTs between the 1 A CTs and the WIC1. These transform the 1 A
secondary rated current into the magnitude that is expected by the WIC1.
The adapter CTs are used instead of the WIC1-CTs. That means they can only be used
with device variants WIC1‑xS (╚═▷ “2.6.1 Order Form of the Device”). (In other words,
they are not compatible with variants WIC1‑xB.)
Moreover, the adapter CTs are designed such that the WIC1 setting for the (relative)
nominal current is as follows:
• [Field Para / CT] »CT . In,relative« = 1.0.•
With this setting, a phase current of 1 A, as delivered on the secondary side of the
standard CTs, results in the phase current 1.0 In measured by the WIC1.
