3.8 Interfaces
The MLG-2 can be used to evaluate the measurements in different ways. The MLG-2
pr
o
vides various interfaces for data output.
•
Switching outputs (Push-Pull)
•
Analog outputs
•
IO-Link interface
The MLG-2 can also preprocess the beam blocks (beam function, e.g., NBB – number
of beams blocked) and output the data via bus or analog interfaces.
The preprocessed data can be assigned directly to the switching outputs via predefined
applications.
3.8.1 Preliminary evaluation
Beam functions for preliminary evaluation
T
he ML
G-2 creates a preliminary evaluation on the basis of the beam status, e.g.:
•
NBB – Number of Beams Blocked
•
LBB – Last Beam Blocked
•
FBB – First Beam Blocked
The results of the preliminary evaluation can be output via the data interfaces and
processed further externally. Alternatively, they can first be processed in a function pro‐
gramming option in the MLG-2.
3.8.2 Configurable applications of the MLG-2 Prime
The MLG-2 provides predefined applications which are assigned to the outputs. The fol‐
low
ing options are available for configuring the applications:
•
Via the control panel (see "Configuration with the control panel", page 37)
•
Using IO-Link (see "IO-Link", page 47)

3.9.1 Sender
The sender has three LEDs on its front. The LEDs are located on the connection side.

tion LED indicators and error indicators on page 49 explains the meaning of
the LED indicators.
