DiagMonitor on PCS 7 PC stations
1. Run the following file: DiagMonitor_Silent_Install.bat
Wait until the installation process is complete.
2. Run the following file: CM_Activate.exe
3. Reboot the computer.
DiagMonitor on domain controllers
Note
Stricter security policies have to be observed for domain controllers.
Installation of a web server on a domain controller is not compatible with the security settings
for PCS 7.
This is why the "Diagnostics Monitor" button on a faceplate (PCs stations in the diagnostic
area of a maintenance servers) for monitoring the domain controller is disabled.
1. Run the following file: Start.exe
2. Select the "WebServer" option.
3. Confirm the license conditions.
4. Confirm the security settings.
5. Wait until the installation process is complete.
6. Run the following file: CM_Activate.exe
7. Reboot the computer.
Configuring SNMP
Configure SNMP. Follow the procedure described in section "Enable and configure SNMP
(Page 123)".
Note
Domain controller on SIMATIC IPC with DiagMonitor
Make the following settings:
● For Community "SOL": "Read" rights.
● Remove all unknown communities.
Configure DiagMonitor
Note
The diagnostic monitor's "Management Station" configuration tool can only be started by a
user with administrator rights.
