The DiagMonitor software monitors, reports, alarms and visualized application-specific
operating states on SIMATIC PCs.
Requirements
Observe the requirements for the hardware and software.
Note
You can find detailed, up-to-date information about approved PC hardware and operating
systems in the manuals DiagMonitor Getting Started and PC DiagMonitor Software .
The SNMP service is enabled. You can find additional information on this in the section "Enable
and configure SNMP (Page 123)".
Restrictions
Note
Remote monitoring is only possible with the TCP/IP Internet protocol since the required SNMP
protocol is available in this protocol family.
Installing and configuring DiagMonitor software (overview)
Information on the software version of the latest PCS 7 version is available in the
Process
Control System PCS 7; PCS 7 Readme file (see "Preface (Page 9)").
Note
Version of DiagMonitor software already installed
Check the Control Panel to see if a version of the "DiagMonitor" software is already installed.
If an older version of DiagMonitor is installed, remove it.
Perform the following steps for the installation and configuration:
1. Install the operating system-specific DiagMonitor: software for your PC:
– DiagMonitor on PCS 7 PC stations (standard version)
– DiagMonitor on domain controllers
