4.2 Switching the device on and off

Switching on the device
1. Press power button (see "Power button (Page 13)"). The blue "Operation" status display
illuminates.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
The following steps should only be performed the first time the device is switched on in its
factory state: see next section "Setting up Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (Page 42)".
3. Follow the steps of Windows OOBE processes.
Switching off the device
Forced shutdown
If you press and hold down the power button for ten seconds or longer, the tablet is
forcibly switched off. In doing so, any programs still open may be damaged and data may be
lost.
Only press the power button during operation in an emergency.
1. Ensure that you have closed all programs open on the desktop.
Apps on the start screen do not have to be closed.
2. Select Start --> Power, and then select Shut down.
3. Wait until the tablet has shut down and all status displays are off.
