7.3.2 BIOS and EC firmware update (Windows mode)
Procedure
Take the following steps to perform BIOS and EC firmware update under Windows mode:
1. Connect the device with AC adapter, USB hub, the prepared update USB drive and USB
keyboard.
2. Copy the unzipped BIOS update files from the USB drive to the target SSD of the device.
3. Long press the "Update.exe" file and select "Run as administrator".
4. Press the power button to power on the device manually after it finishes BIOS first phase
update and gets shut down automatically. You will be reminded by the displaying system
message.
Make sure the AC adapter is well connected during BIOS flash period, and do not shut
down the device. Otherwise, the devic
e might suffer from permanent damage and it
might require substantial hardware repair.
After the device is powered on manually, BIOS update starts automatically.
5. After BIOS update finishes, you can check BIOS version information either in System
Information or by pressing HotTab.
