3.3 Connecting the device
3.3.1 Notes on power supply
The battery charges when the device is connected to the power supply.
Always operate the device with the battery inserted.
For the proper operation of the device with external power supply, a battery must be also be
inserted.
Power supply only with the original power supply unit
Only use the supplied original power supply unit for the power supply of the device. This
applies to both the connection to the device and to the connection to the docking station.
It is used to supply power to the device in mains operation with 120 V and 230 V power
supply networks.
The setting of the voltage range takes place automatically.
Note before connecting to mains operation
Personal injury or damage to when device is operated on the wrong power supply
system
If you connect the device to an unsuitable power supply system, the device receives
voltages and currents that are too high or too low. Bodily injury, malfunctions, or device
damage may result.
• The permissible supply voltage of the device must match the local supply voltage.
• Operate the device only on grounded power supply systems (TN systems in accordance
with VDE 0100 Part 100 or IEC 60364-3).
• Operation on ungrounded or impedance-grounded networks (IT networks) is not
permitted.
Danger of damage to the device or destruction of the battery
Only use the supplied battery or an original spare part. You can find more information on
