Note
Correct fastening of the cable glands
Fasten the cable glands as follows:
• M16 x 1.5 clamping range 5 to 10 mm made of plastic, counter nut and cap nut (clamp cables
or plugs) with a torque of 3.0Nm.
• M20 x 1.5 clamping range 10to14 mm made of plastic, counter nut and cap nut with a
torque of 4.5Nm.
• M16 x 1.5 clamping range 6 to 10 mm made of metal, counter nut and cap nut with a torque
of 6.5Nm.
• M20 x 1.5 clamping range 10 to 14 mm made of metal, counter nut and cap nut with a torque
of 9.0Nm.
Note
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
You can use this device in industrial environments and small businesses. Metal housings show
increased electromagnetic compatibility compared to high-frequency radiation. The protection
from high-frequency radiation can be increased by grounding the housing.
Note
Improvement of interference immunity
• Lay signal cables separately from cables with voltages >60V.
• Use cables with twisted wires.
• Install the device and lay its cables at a distance to strong electromagnetic elds.
• Use shielded lines to guarantee the full specication according to Ethernet/PROFIBUS.
Note
Unstable plug-in connections
Plug-in connections without interlock can loosen and fall out. Operation with Ex py or Ex ec can
cause an ignition.
• Secure plug-in connections without interlock mechanically, for example, with a cable tie.
8.2.3 Requirements for electrical connection
• You have ensured that a power disconnection unit belonging to the device is located in the
direct vicinity of the device.
This power disconnection device must be labelled so that it is linked exclusively with this
device.
• You have checked that the existing power supply corresponds to that specied on the rating
plate of the device.
