12.1 Safety instructions for decommissioning
WARNING
Incorrect disassembly
The following dangers may result through incorrect disassembly:
- Injury through electric shock
- Danger through emerging media when connected to the process
- Danger of explosion in hazardous area
Observe the following for correct disassembly:
• Before starting work, ensure that the power supply and pressure supply are disconnected
and hot device surfaces have cooled o.
• If the device contains dangerous process media, empty the device prior to disassembly.
Make sure that no media are released which are environmentally hazardous.
• Secure the remaining connections so that no damage can result if the process is started
unintentionally.
WARNING
Dangerous voltage at open device
Danger of electrocution
Danger of electrocution when the enclosure is opened or enclosure parts are removed.
• Disconnect the device and wait another 10 minutes before you open the enclosure or
remove enclosure parts. Ensure that the device cannot be switched back on unintentionally.
WARNING
Danger of poisoning by escaping gas
The device is designed for operation with toxic, lightly corrosive gases. Therefore, dangerous
substances may exit from the gas lines when they are opened.
• Prevent gases from exiting prior to opening or removing the device, for example:
– Shut o the gas inlets and gas outlets.
– Disconnect the gas lines from the device.
