5.4.9 Sample gas disposal
Thin long lines cause ow resistances in the gas paths. Therefore:
• Install the exhaust line as short as possible
• Use an exhaust gas line with a larger diameter
Install the exhaust line as vertical as possible to avoid water vapor condensation in the
exhaust gas line.
5.5 Plug & measure permitted activities
5.5.1 General information
Term
"Plug & Measure" is the ability to recognize any analyzer modules and/or option modules added
at a later time and to integrate them. This ability makes it easier to replace modules for
maintenance purposes as well as installing devices at a later time, for example, option modules.
When you replace or retrot a module, the processing module recognizes the change in the
device conguration during a restart. The type of module as well as its parameter assignment
are recognized. You can either apply the parameter assignments of the replacement/retrot
module or use those of the previous module.
Requirement
For successful module retrotting or module replacement, the rmware of the module to be
replaced must be compatible with the rmware of the processing module.
Prior to the installation of the module you have to update the rmware of the processing
module:
• When installing a new module into an existing device.
• When replacing a module: When the error message 'Download rmware/conguration'
appears in the display.
If an analyzer module is already present, you must update its rmware. To this purpose,
please contact our Service department.
