4. Read measurement result.
5. Reverse the probes and measure the voltage in the diode once more. Evaluate the diode
according to the following rules:
⚫ If the Multimeter shows “overload” when in reverse bias model, it indicates that the diode is
normal.
⚫ If the Multimeter shows voltage about 0V and the instrument beeps persistently when in
forward and reverse bias model, it indicates that the diode is short.
⚫ If the Multimeter shows “overload” when in forward and reverse model, it indicates that the
diode is open.
NOTE:
Before testing diode, please cut off the power and discharge all the high-voltage containers to avoid
damages to the Multimeter.
