4. Read measurement result.
5. Reverse the probes and measure the voltage in the diode once more. Evaluate the diode
according to the following rules:
If the Multimeter shows “overload” when in reverse bias model, it indicates that the diode is
normal.
If the Multimeter shows voltage about 0V and the instrument beeps persistently when in
forward and reverse bias model, it indicates that the diode is short.
If the Multimeter shows “overload” when in forward and reverse model, it indicates that the
diode is open.
NOTE:
Before testing diode, please cut off the power and discharge all the high-voltage containers to avoid
damages to the Multimeter.
