FORMATTING THE CF CARD
New CF cards must be formatted before use. In addition, cards with corrupt or
incompatible file systems may need to be formatted before use.
TO FORMAT THE CF CARD

Make sure the camera is turned on.

Press the button on the back of the
camera to display the Camera Set-up Menu.
(See P. 1 04 )

Use arrows on the 4-way controller to
select “Format CF Card…”.

Press arrow or to open the confirmation
dialog.

Press to format the CF card or to close
the confirmation dialog without formatting the
card.
CAUTION !!
• Formatting erases all card contents, including locked SD14 images and all
non-SD14 files. Review card contents carefully before formatting.
TIP
• Cards formatted in other cameras or devices may not operate correctly in
the SD14 camera or may have reduced capacity. To store the maximum
number of SD14 images, format the CF card in the SD14 camera before use.
