7. Disconnect the fuel supply line (A, Figure 33) on the
left side of the engine, and plug the line to prevent
spillage of fuel.
8. Disconnect the fuel return line (B) on the left side of
the engine, and plug the line to prevent spillage of
fuel.
9. Loosen the throttle cable anchor (C) on the fuel injec-
tion pump lever. Remove the throttle cable clamp (D),
and remove the throttle cable.
10 Disconnect the wire on the glow plug buss bar (E),
fuel injection pump stop solenoid (F), oil pressure
switch (G) and water temperature sender (H) on the

11. Slowly turn the radiator cap (I) counter-clockwise until
it stops, allowing all pressure to bleed from the sys-
tem. Depress the radiator cap, and continue to turn
until it stops. Remove the radiator cap.
12. Place a suitable container under the radiator drain
valve (J). Open the drain valve (J) completely, and
allow all coolant to drain from the radiator and
engine. Close the drain valve (J).
WARNING
DO NOT perform the next step in the presence of
open flames, sparks, or smoking materials.
Gasoline is highly flammable, and could result in
explosion or fire causing death or serious injury.
WARNING
Wait until the engine is cool before performing
the next step. Engine coolant is under pressure
when hot, and may spray, causing burns or other
serious injury.
