1. Parking brake lever
WARNING
Make sure parking brake is fully
disengaged before operating the
snowmobile. When you ride the
vehicle, brake pads that are caused
to drag by a continuous pressure
on the lever m ay cause damage to
the brake system and cause loss of
braking capacity and/or fire.
To Engage Parking Brake
Apply and hold brake, then lock brake
lever u sing the parking brake lever as
shown.

To Release Parking Brake
Squeeze brake lever. Parking brake
lever will auto matically re turn to its
original position. Always release park-
ing brake before riding.
6) Engine Cut-Off Switch
The engine cut-off switch is located to
on the LH side of console.
The tether cord cap must b e securely
snapped to the engine cut-off switch
to allow vehicle operation.
NOTE: After engine starting, 2 short
beeps should be heard if a pro-
grammed D.E.S.S. key (tether cord
cap) is correctly snapped on engine
cut-off switch. If another beep code
is heard, refer to
MONITORING SYS-
TEM
for D.E.S.S. malfunction codes
information.
WARNING
Always attach the tether cord eye-
let to clothing before start ing the
engine.
Pulling the tether cord cap from the
engine cut-off switch shuts the engine
off.
D.E.S.S. (Digitally Encoded Security
System)
The tether cord cap has an integrated
D.E.S.S. key to provide you and your
snowmobile with the equivalent secu-
rity of a conventional lock key.
The D.E.S.S.keycontains an electronic
chip which features a unique perma-
nently memorized digital code.
Your a utho r ized Ski-Doo dealer has pro-
gramed the D.E.S.S. of your snowmo-
bile to recognize the D.E.S.S. key in the
tether cord cap to allow vehicle opera-
tion.
If another tether cord is used without
programming the D.E.S .S., the eng ine
will start b ut will not reach drive pulley
engagement speed to move vehicle.
