Never tow an accessory with a
rope. Alway s use a rigid tow bar.

Towing Another
Snowmobile
If a snowmobile is disabled and must
be towed use a rigid tow bar. Rem ove
the drive belt from disabled snowmo-
bile, refer to
DRIVE BELT
in the
MAIN-
TENANCE PROCEDURE
subsec tion
and tow at moderate speed.
NOTICE
Alwa ys re move the driv e
belt of the snowmobile that is to be
towed to prevent damage to its belt
and drive system.
In an emergency situationonly, if a rigid
tow bar is not available, a rope can be
used. Proceed with extra caution. In
some areas, it may be illegal to do so.
Check with state or local authorities.
Remo ve the drive be lt, attach the ro pe
to the ski legs (spindles), have s ome-
one siton the towedsnowmobile toac-
tivate the brake, and tow at low speed.
NOTICE
In order to prevent dam-
age to the steering system, never
attach the tow rope to th e ski loops
(handles).
WARNING
Never ride at high speed when
towing a disabled snow mobil e.
Proceed slowly with extra caution.
