What to do if my SMC Networks JXC91 Controller does not operate at all?
    • S
      Steven LiAug 13, 2025
If your SMC Networks Controller doesn't operate at all, and there is no sound of lock release, the lock brake may be broken. If the problem persists, please contact SMC. Also, refer to the controller operation manual and take appropriate measures in case of external equipment failure. Moreover, take appropriate measures according to this manual if the reason is unsuitable spec.

Why does my SMC Networks JXC91 operation stop intermittently?
    • D
      Dennis HenryAug 21, 2025
If your SMC Networks Controller operation stops intermittently, correct the wiring so that the input/output of each signal is performed appropriately. Refer to the controller operation manual and take appropriate measures in case of electric noise. Take appropriate measures according to this manual in case of incorrect parameters or unsuitable spec. There is a possibility of a momentary voltage drop because the capacity of the power supply is insufficient, or if the power supply is 'inrush-current control' type. If necessary, replace the power supply. Check 'INP' signal before the energy saving mode is turned ON if there is a failure of pushing operation. Set the interval time between signals to more than twice the communication cycle time if there is an issue with signal timing.

How to fix the communication fault (JXC-W2A-C) on the SMC Networks Controller?
    • D
      Daniel SerranoAug 26, 2025
To fix a communication fault on the SMC Networks Controller, install the USB driver of the communication unit. The USB driver's installation starts when the communication unit is connected with PC if the USB driver is not installed. Confirm if the correct COM port is set to the ACT Controller if there is an incorrect COM port setting. Confirm the connection status in case of connection failure.

What to do if MS or NS is ON or flashing on SMC Networks Controller?
    • C
      csheltonAug 28, 2025
If MS or NS is ON or flashing on your SMC Networks Controller: Set up configuration correctly if there is a setting error. Set PLC in RUN status if the PLC has stopped operating, or the communication is idling. Set up the configuration correctly (refer to Hardware Configuration for details) if MS: Red LED flashes. Stop using the product and contact your sales representative if MS: Red LED is on. Set the IP address correctly if NS: OFF. Check the signal line from PLC is connected correctly, communication speed of PLC is appropriate, and wire the communication line away from the noise source, then restart if NS: Green or Red LED flashes. Reset IP address which has not been used yet if NS: Red LED is on.

What to do if the actuator does not move to the correct position with SMC Networks Controller?
    • M
      Michael JamesSep 1, 2025
If the actuator does not move to the correct position with your SMC Networks Controller, take measures to make the actuator operate normally (remove foreign matter that interferes with the actuator movement, etc.) if there is an incorrect origin position. Modify the parameters and test the operation if there are incorrect parameters. Take appropriate measures according to this manual in case of unsuitable specification.

Why is ALM on in SMC Networks JXC91?
    • S
      Stephen Tucker MDSep 5, 2025
If ALM is on in your SMC Networks Controller, it indicates an alarm has been generated. Refer to the controller operation manual and take appropriate measures.

How to troubleshoot if the LED is OFF on SMC Networks Controller?
    • L
      Lisa WeberSep 8, 2025
If the LED is OFF on your SMC Networks Controller, use an appropriate voltage and power supply capacity in reference to the operation manual of the actuator and controller if there is a power fault. Correct the wiring in reference to Controller Operation Manual if there is incorrect wiring.

What to do if the actuator does not move correctly with SMC Networks JXC91?
    • D
      danacruzNov 16, 2025
If the actuator does not move correctly with your SMC Networks Controller, ensure the wiring is correct so that the input/output of each signal is performed appropriately. Also, input correct data (step data, parameter) again and confirm operation if data is not stored correctly. Modify the values of the parameters and test the operation if speed is not achieved. Modify the setting to make the moving distance longer or the acceleration larger if the operation pattern is not suitable. There is a possibility of a momentary voltage drop because the capacity of the power supply is insufficient, or if the power supply is 'inrush-current control' type. If necessary, replace the power supply. Take appropriate measures according to this manual if the reason is unsuitable specification. Set the int...
