Scanner Units
Selecting Scanner Units allows you to switch between US Customary and metric units of
measurement for parameter values displayed when using the scan tool.
z To change the Scanner Units:
1. From the main menu, select Utilities > Tool Setup > Scanner Units.
The Scanner Units dialog box displays (Figure 5-17).

2. Select options from the drop-down lists as necessary.
The drop-down lists close automatically when Y/a is pressed.
3. Press N/X to close the Units dialog box.
Ignition System
Available for the Lab Scope Plug-in only, selecting Ignition System lets you choose the
appropriate setup for the test vehicle, such as ignition type, number of cylinders, firing order,
polarity, # 1 trigger, or RPM factor.
Refer to the Lab Scope Plug-in User Manual for details.
Power Management
Selecting Power Management lets you change battery pack charging mode settings. Two modes
are available for charging the battery pack:
Quick—charges in 4 hours, but puts more strain on the battery pack and reduces its life span.
Trickle—charges in 8 hours and is recommended for maximum battery pack life.
Refer to “Charge Battery” on page 46 for more details.
z To change battery pack charging modes:
1. From the main menu, select Utilities > Tool Setup > Power Management.
The Power Management dialog box displays.
2. Press Y/a.
A drop-down list displays (Figure 5-18).
