Handling SxS Memory Cards
Chapter 2 Preparations
• Use this unit to format SxS memory cards
that will be used with this unit.
When memory cards are formatted on
another unit, the format is regarded as an
invalid format, making it necessary to
format the memory cards again.
However, note that the format and delete
functions of this unit do not completely
remove data from memory cards. Before
discarding or disposing of a memory
card, erase it using commercial data
erasure software, or physically destroy it.
Sony cannot be responsible for any
failure to erase data completely.
• Clip operations may not be possible
when the remaining capacity of the media
is low. In this case, use a computer to
delete unneeded files and try again.
• Open the memory card case completely
before storing a card in the case or
removing a card from the case.
For write protection
Setting the write-protect switch of the SxS
memory card to “WP” disables you to
record, edit or delete data.
Do not operate the write-protect switch of
an SxS memory card while it is set in the
unit. Temporarily remove the card from the
unit before changing the switch setting.
Inserting/removing an SxS
memory card
To insert an SxS memory card
Insert the SxS memory card into the card
slot.
The ACCESS lamp lights in red then
changes to green once the memory card is
ready for use.
