KARL STORZ AIDA Secure
The system is delivered with KARLSTORZ AIDA C Secure (SE46 Local Whitelist Manager) as
standard. This security software can be used to install software and hardware in Service Mode.
The software uses the whitelist approach. Only approved, certified software can be run on the
system.
KARLSTORZ also recommends combination with an intrusion prevention system (IPS) in order
to guarantee maximum protection of the network.
KARLSTORZ cannot accept any liability for malfunctions or loss of data on modified systems.
6.4.2
Installing and approving hardware and software components
Damage to the operating system!
Viruses and other malware can damage the operating system during installation processes.
Check the data carrier and the software to be installed with an up-to-date anti-virus
program.
Only use the data carrier you have checked throughout the entire process.
Ensure that the network is free from viruses and other malware.
1. Ensure that the software to be installed comes from a safe and trustworthy source and
can be installed on the system without any risks.
2. Disconnect unnecessary data storage devices from the system, e.g., USB hard disks.
3. Disconnect the system from the network.
4. Switch to Windows and log in with administrator rights. Call up the Windows desktop in
the Configuration menu under General>System.
5. Click on Start\Programs\neXus\SE46\Local Whitelist Manager.
