Part 2: Administrator Level WSPC USER INTERFACE

6.6 MODBUS FUNCTIONS
The “Modbus” display is available only when an Administrator level profile is
active. Communication transactions between the WSPC program and the WS
Controller may be monitored at the “Modbus” display. None of this is essential
for machine operation, but may be used for demonstration purposes if setting up
a dedicated Modbus network. See Figure 6.16.
Refer to the WS Controller Modbus Specification for information on using
modbus with the WS Controller and a complete list of associated commands.
The data communicated represents compressor operating mode and states,
including faults and warning signals, compressor temperatures and pressures,
machine run times and intervals, VSD performance, digital I/O states, sequence
status, and other machine parameters.
The messages appear in hexadecimal or decimal form. The WSPC transmits a
request for information or send commands to control the compressor operation.
The controller responds with the requested data or an acknowledgement to the
control command.
Communication must be “Connected” between the PC and the controller to
perform modbus functions. Connection is indicated by the box left of the
“Connect” button appearing bright green.
