7) Adjust intake and exhaust valve lashes referring to “Valve
Lash (Clearance)” in this section.
8) Adjust accelerator cable play and A/T throttle cable play.
Refer to “Accelerator Cable Adjustment” and “A/T Throttle
Cable Adjustment” in Section 6E1.
9) Check to ensure that all removed parts are back in place.
Reinstall any necessary parts which have not been rein-
stalled.
10) Refill cooling system referring to “Cooling System Flush and
Refill” in Section 6B.
11) Connect negative cable at battery.
12) Verify that there is no fuel leakage, coolant leakage and
exhaust gas leakage at each connection.
13) Confirm that ignition timing is within specification referring to
“Ignition Timing Check” in Section 6F1.
Piston, Piston Rings, Connecting Rods and Cylinders
COMPONENTS

: Do not apply engine oil to inner surface of cap.
Tightening torque
2. 2nd ring 7. Connecting rod bearing
: Do not apply engine oil between rod big end
and bearing, between cap and bearing.
Do not reuse.
3. Oil ring 8. Piston pin Apply engine oil to sliding surface of each part.
4. Piston 9. Piston pin circlip
5. Connecting rod
: Do not apply engine oil to inner surface of
rod big end.
