1E-14 Engine Lubrication System:
Installation
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Pay attention
to the following points:
• Apply grease to the O-ring.
CAUTION
!
Use a new O-ring to prevent oil leakage.
: Grease 99000–25010 (SUZUKI SUPER
GREASE A or equivalent)
• Install the oil pump.
NOTE
Set the oil pump shaft end “A” to the water
pump shaft.
• Tighten the oil pump mounting bolts (1) to the
specified torque.
Tightening torque
Oil pump mounting bolt (a): 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m,
7.0 lb-ft)
• Install the washer (2) and pin (3).
NOTE
Be careful not to drop any parts into the
crankcase.
• Install the oil pump driven gear (4) and snap ring (5).
CAUTION
!
Never reuse a snap ring.
Special tool
: 09900–06107 (Snap ring pliers)
• Install the clutch assembly. Refer to “Clutch
Installation in Section 5C (Page 5C-17)”.
Oil Pump Inspection

Inspect the oil pump in the following procedures:
1) Remove the oil pump. Refer to “Oil Pump Removal
and Installation (Page 1E-13)”.
2) Rotate the oil pump by hand and check that it moves
smoothly. If it does not move smoothly, replace the
oil pump assembly.
CAUTION
!
Do not attempt to disassemble the oil pump.
The oil pump is available only as an
assembly.
3) Install the oil pump. Refer to “Oil Pump Removal and
Installation (Page 1E-13)”.
