Clamping the Air Bearing
An air-bearing clamp is provided for use with the Upper
Heated Plate. Never attach or remove the clamp unless
the air supply is connected and switched on.
To attach the clamp
1. Remove the geometry holder from the instrument
shaft, and remove the geometry from the holder (see
Figure 7.23).
2. Replace the geometry holder
3. Push the clamp up onto the drawrod and attach it by
turning the drawrod counterclockwise
(anticlockwise).
To remove the clamp hold it firmly and release it by
turning the drawrod clockwise.
