4.3 Rear Panel RS232/RS485 IN Connector
RS232/485 in the interface is accessible through the rear panel RS232/485 IN connector. The
connector is eight contacts, shielded RJ-45 type. The connector is used to connect power supplies
in RS232 or RS485 configurations. Refer to Figure 4–1 for the connector description.

• RS232/485 IN Pinout:
• 1 – RS232 RX
• 2 – RS232 TX
• 3 – RS485 RXD-
• 4 – RS485 TXD-
• 5 – RS485 TXD+
• 6 – RS485 RXD+
• 7 – NC (Not Connected)
• 8 – SG (Signal Ground)
NOTE
TX and RX are used for RS232 communication. TXD +/- and RXD +/- are used for RS485
communication. Refer to RS232 (Figure 4–3) and RS485 (Figure 4–4) cable descriptions for
connection details.
