Functional Safety
13.1 Reliability data
The
MX32v2
controller is certified according to the European standard EN
50271:2010Electrical apparatus for the detection and measurement of combustible gases,
toxic gases or oxygen. Requirements and tests for apparatus using software and/or digital
technologies”.
Concerning the requirements relative to the software development process, standard EN
50271 specifies a practical approach in order to satisfy the requirements of EN 61508-3 for
the safety integrity level SIL 1.
The French Notified Body INERIS certified that the
MX32v2
controller conforms to the
necessary requirements and level SIL 1.

13.2 Specific Conditions of Use
The safety function of the
MX32v2
is the processing of the signal of the detectors linked to its
input. As soon as a measurement reaches a programmed threshold, an audio and visual alarm
goes off. Simultaneously, the possible corresponding alarm relay(s) is (are) activated,
commanding additional internal or external actions set forth by the user.
